I don’t know about you, but there’s just something about mugs that always reminds me of Christmas.

Over the years, I have loved learning how to make personalized items with my Cricut machine – especially mugs. There are just few occasions that a mug wouldn’t be a perfect personalized item!

How to Personalize Mugs with Cricut
There are a couple of different ways to personalize mugs with Cricut.
- Mug Press and Infusible Ink
- Vinyl
- Iron-on Vinyl
My personal favorite – and most used – techqnie us with the Mug Press and Infusible Ink, but the other options work well, too!
I will link out to other tutorials for the different techniques, but here is a brief overview:
Mug Press and Infusible Ink
Infusible Ink is Cricut’s version of sublimation. You can use it on shirts, canvas bags, coasters, and, of course, mugs!
They released their “Mug Press”, which makes it super easy to put permanent and professional designs on your mugs. This is my favorite way to personalize a mug just because the results look SO professional and are very much permanent.
You can use the Infusible Ink Sheets, which come in TONS of fun colors and patterns, or you can create a fun design using Infusible Ink Pens and copy paper.
Supplies Needed:
- Cricut Infusible Ink Mugs – there are a variety of choices:
- Infusible Ink Sheets OR
- Infusible Ink Pens and Laser Copy Paper
- Lint Roller
- Cricut Mug Press

Vinyl

- Transfer Tape

Iron-on Vinyl

- Heat Press with Mug Attachment OR
- Heat Gun
I think this is a bit more permanent than using regular viny, but it does require a few more tools. If you already have a heat press and are able to get a heat press attachment, that will probably be helpful!
Cricut Christmas Mug Ideas
There are TONS of amazing Christmas mugs you can make with your Cricut.
If you go into the project search page for Design Space and just search “Christmas Mug” or “Holiday Mug” you will see lots of ideas. I’ve done several of these projects myself, which I’ll share below with the links to the project.
I will also share the links to other designs you can find in Design Space. All of these are included with a Cricut Access subscription!
A few things to keep in mind:
- Even if a design isn’t specifically for Infusible Ink, most are interchangeable. You can put the design into a template for a mug, or you can just measure the space on the mug and apply without the template.
- Beyond projects, Design Space has lots of fun images that are perfect for Christmas mugs as well!
CLICK FOR PROJECT – I used an image from Design Space and placed this on a mug press template.
CLICK FOR PROJECT – I kept messing up with this one, which is why the colors are different part way through. It still turned out fun. I LOVE stackable mugs.
CLICK FOR PROJECT – This was a layered design, which was pretty fun to do!
