Where can you buy Cricut Joy Accesories?

You can find several of these best sellers on the Cricut website as well as other retailers. Here are a few places to always check:

  • Cricut.com – This is always going to be the most legitimate place to buy supplies since it’s directly from Cricut. They have deals nearly every week (which we share in our emails!)
  • Amazon – I find the most variability in prices here. You can also find “off brand” materials that might work as well.

Keep in mind that at stores like Joann and Michael’s, you cannot use store coupons on Cricut supplies and materials. However, they often have some really good sales on accessories, so make sure you check those regularly. If you shop online, signup for Rakuten for some great cashback!

You can use your Joy machine without a mat when using Smart Vinyl Materials made for your machine. But if you want to use other types of material such as cardstock or regular vinyl, you’ll need a machine mat.

There are different types of mats to consider.

Each of these mats come in the 4.5″x12″ and 4.5×6.5″ sizes. Personally, I always go with the longer-sized mats if I’m on a budget.

Both are wonderful Cricut mats that work well for Cricut beginners. If you can only get one new mat I would recommend first getting the standard grip mat as it is more versatile. The light grip mat is better used for delicate materials.

There are several off-brands on Amazon that have great reviews and will save you some money.

While we love the Cricut Joy pens, you may want to experiment with different types of pens. This Cricut Joy pen adapter set is really inexpensive, and it can really expand the types of pens that you can use. It works with the Sharpie fine point pens, Ultra Fine Point Markers, and Art Pens.

Portable Trimmer

The portable trimmer makes cutting straight lines super quick and easy to help you trim your materials to perfectly fit your Joy Machine mats. so you can quickly trim your materials to fit on your Joy machine mats.

If you are using other material than Smart Vinyl (which fits perfectly in your Cricut Joy) than you will definitely find the portable trimmer to come in handy as it can help you trim vinyl to fit in this smaller machine.

While you can live without a Cricut Machine tote– it does make life easier to have one. Since the Cricut Joy is such a portable machine, it only makes sense to have this tote.

In my opinion, the ability to make cards with the Cricut Joy is one of its best features. Cricut has a variety of insert card kits that make it even easier to make cards. You might find different card inserts from different retailers and for different seasons.
