I love the holiday season. But I’ll admit, by the time I get to New Year’s Eve, I’m pretty much out of juice.
Which means I am often scrambling to do last minute projects for the big ball drop party. But not this year. I’ll be ready for the party with these quick and easy diy leather earrings.
These earrings are super fast, super easy and the perfect accent to a dressed up or dressed down New Year’s Eve look. And since they are faux leather, they are super lightweight.
You can use either a Cricut Maker to cut these earrings or you can use a Cricut Explore Air 2. I have found that using the deep cut blade gets the best results.
You can try the knife blade, but faux leather is fairly thin and shouldn’t give you an issue. Check out this post to learn more about cutting leather with the Cricut.
How to Make Faux Leather Earrings
Materials Needed
- Earring Cut file from Cricut Design Space
- Faux Leather
- Ear Wires
- Jump Rings
- Pliers
Step 1
Load faux leather on your cutting machine with the wrong side up. Make sure to use the purple mat so your faux leather doesn’t move.
Cut out the earrings with the Cricut. Peel back the faux leather and make sure everything cut nicely.
Step 2
Make sure the hole in the earrings cut out nicely. If it did not, you can use a punch or even a safety pin to make the hole large enough.
Step 3
Use the pliers to carefully open a jump ring. Place the hole of the earring on the jump ring.
Step 4
Place the ear wire onto the jump ring and carefully close the ring. The earring, jump ring and ear wire should now all be attached.
Repeat steps for the opposite earring.
You did it!! Wasn’t that the easier DIY earring project ever!!
You’re going to look amazing for New Year’s Eve this year. These earrings also make really great gifts for friends and family. Make sure to check out all these free earring svg files.
