. Subscription boxes seem to be all the rage right now, and I feel like I see a different one popping up in my newsfeed every day. I’ve been sent (or I purchased) a bunch of subscription boxes over the past year or so, and I feel like I’ve gotten an idea of which ones are worth signing up for.
I think subscription boxes are fun to give as gifts because who doesn’t love getting a box full of awesome stuff every month (or every couple of weeks). It’s really fun!
Subscription Boxes for Kids
KidStir: This is my FAVORITE subscription box – partially because I’m super passionate about kids being in the kitchen. Jack was so thrilled – he got a box that came with a few cooking utensils that were just his, a recipe book, and several recipes that were easy enough for him to make. He made the entire meal himself (chicken, vegetables, and a molten lava cake), and he was so proud. I think they have a 30% off coupon on their website.
BookRoo: This is a great service to help encourage early literacy in children. Plans start at $15.99 a month, and the value of the books are guaranteed to be more than the cost of the box. You can choose a board book box (which includes three books) or a picture book box (which includes two picture books.
Little Passports: Send your children on an adventure! Little Passports sends the child subscribed a fun box filled with activities that will expand their minds.
Kiwi Crate: Kiwi Crate is one of the most popular subscription boxes for kids. I know so many people rave about this – they have ones for every age (starting at even just the age of ZERO), and they aren’t super expensive. I love all the options!
Green Kid Crafts: I have heard great things about Green Kid Crafts. They have great STEAM projects that your kiddos get each month, and they all look like so much fun! It is for kids ages 3-10.
Bluum: This is a subscription service that is catered specifically to your child’s age. Plans start at $25 a month, and each month, the child will receive a box of handpicked items just for them. The boxes contain bottles, books, lotions, blankets, and more. They pick high-quality items that they know children love. They have a store where you can buy items individually (or if you want to see what types of products your box might include!).
Baby Pallet: This is a subscription box for children aged newborn to three. Each month, they will receive a box with about four items that are age appropriate. They include items such as food, toys, clothes, etc. Baby Pallet starts at $35 a month. They have a store where you can buy items individually (or if you want to see what types of products your box might include!).
Meal Delivery Subscriptions
HelloFresh: I really like HelloFresh! The meals weren’t super fancy, but they were delicious. I don’t know that I would want to get it every day, just because they do take some time to prep, but I think it’s a great service. We really enjoyed most of the meals we got from them. Meals start as low as $8.75, and they have options for different family sizes, as well as a veggie-only box.
Blue Apron: Blue Apron is another great food delivery service. I feel like the food is a little more gourmet than some of them, but it’s quite good. Like HelloFresh, it does take some prep time, but it is well worth the effort. Plans start as low as $8.74 a meal.
Plaid Cow Society: This is a meat delivery service – fresh, never frozen, and the animals are all grass fed. I’ve seen people compare this to Zaycon, but that it’s better for smaller families since you don’t have to order so much. You can sign up for a beef box, or a chicken and beef box. Each box comes with 12-16 meal-sized portions (6-8 oz each) for a total of 6-7 lbs of edible meat
Freshly: Yet another great meal delivery service – this one boasts of chef-prepared and healthy meals. I have yet to try it, but I’m anxiously awaiting the time when I can. Meals start as low as $8.99.

Candy Club: Know someone with a sweet tooth for candy? This might be the box for them. The Candy Club starts at $19.99 a month, and they feature amazing candies. I was surprised at all the fun varieties inside. You can even order varieties that you particularly liked from their online store. They also have a money back guarantee if you aren’t 100% satisfied.
Treatsie: This is an artisan sweets box. We have gotten it a few times, and I enjoyed it each time. They aim to share amazing treats that you may not find anywhere else. Plans start at $16.92 a month.
