Ham isn’t something I’ve always loved, but over the years, I’ve really come to enjoy a well-cooked ham.
It’s something we typically just have on holidays such as Christmas and Easter – but when it’s combined with potatoes, rolls, and vegetables…there’s just something so special about it.
There are many ways to prepare a ham, and I thought it would be fun to experiment with one in the Instant Pot!
It turned out absolutely delicious, and we all loved having it for leftovers days after.

Ham is one of those dishes that pairs nicely with so many other dishes.
It’s a classic entree that is perfect for holidays or Sunday dinners and you can make it as fancy or casual as you’d like depending on what you serve with it.

While I think tihs recipe is great just the way it is you can always play around with the flavors.
Instead of pineapple juice you could use apple or orange juice. Just know that it may not taste the same.
If you don’t have cornstarch on hand try using flour, arrowroot, potato starch, tapioca, and even instant mashed potato granules

What condiments go well on a ham sandwich? I love using leftover ham for sandwiches. Use anything like mayo, mustard, pickles, lettuce, tomatoes or horseradish sauce.
Where do you buy a ham? I love getting ham at my local Costco but any grocery store will also have ham.
How much does a Kirkland ham cost? The Spiral Ham is around $2.29 a pound and spiral hams range between about 10 and 12 pounds
Is boneless or bone-in ham better? A boneless ham is easier to slice and a bone-in ham has more flavor because the bone itself imparts flavor into the meat. It depends on your preference! For this recipe you will want to use a boneless ham.
What part of the pig is spiral ham? It is either the inside or outside of the leg muscle, from the shank (bottom) or butt (top) end.
Ingredients
- 4 pounds Kirkland Master Carve Ham (or other boneless ham)
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup pineapple juice
- Garlic powder
- Onion powder
Instructions
Place ham on a large piece of tin foil. Cut slits into the ham.
Put your trivet in the bottom of your Instant Pot with 1 cup of water. Place the ham in the tin foil onto the trivet.
In a saucepan, mix together brown sugar, pineapple juice, onion powder, and cornstarch over medium heat until it starts to thicken.
Pour sauce over ham in Instant Pot.
Place lid on top of Instant Pot.
Set for eight minutes on manual high pressure.
Once the timer goes off, natural pressure release for 10 minutes and then release the rest of the pressure.
Carefully remove from the Instant Pot – make sure you don’t spill the juice!
Move to a serving dish and slice. Pour extra juice/glaze over the ham.
