Hot Chocolate Gift Supplies
Making a cute hot cocoa gift couldn’t be easier. And since you can add different elements to the basket based on your gift recipient’s tastes, you can put together a unique, personalized gift for each person on your list.
To make this simple hot chocolate gift, you’ll need:
- Hot chocolate. The most important element of this gift is the hot chocolate. You can use premade hot chocolate packets, homemade hot cocoa mix, or even hot chocolate bombs.
- Marshmallows. You can’t enjoy hot chocolate without marshmallows, so you can’t forget to add them to your gift basket! I used mini marshmallows in my basket, but you could use any type of marshmallows, including flavored marshmallows or marshmallows in fun holiday shapes.
- Stirring spoons. I found chocolate and peppermint stirring spoons at the dollar store, making them perfect for a hot chocolate gift basket! You can also make your own stirring spoons by dipping plastic spoons in melted chocolate.
- Mugs. The last element of this hot chocolate basket is a mug. Dollar Tree has a variety of cute mugs you could add to your basket. Or get a plain white mug and use your Cricut to create a personalized element for your gift basket! The Cricut Mug Press would be fun to make some customized mugs.
How to Make a Hot Cocoa Christmas Gift
Putting together this DIY Christmas gift couldn’t be easier. Once you have your supplies gathered up, all you have to do is arrange them in your gift basket.
Start by grabbing a basket to hold all the elements of the gift. You can find Christmas-themed baskets in the seasonal section of your dollar store. Or head to the household items to find a variety of solid-colored baskets that work perfectly for gifts.
Then, fill the basket with paper shreds or another filler item, like tissue paper, to help fill in the empty space in the bottom of the basket. Make sure you fill the majority of the basket with filler so that the elements of your gift rest on top, making them visible to the gift recipient.
Once your basket is ready to go, start removing all the ingredients for your gift from its packaging. Transfer each of the items to a clear gift bag, then tie a bow around the top of the bag to hold it together. After that, simply arrange the elements in the basket, placing the larger items in the back and smaller pieces in the front.
