French Toast Hot Dog Buns
Somehow this summer, we keep ending up with lots of extra hot dog buns.
They usually are leftover from various church activities, and I guess we just seem like people who need a lot of hot dog buns.
Well, we really don’t. Ha! So I’ve been accumulating a bunch in my freezer so I can avoid them getting moldy.
But then I end up forgetting about them when I actually might use them.
I decided that I was going to try and find a way to use them all in bulk, just so I stopped stocking up on them in the freezer…and french toast came to mind!
French toast is the best way to use up leftover bread – and it’s shaped similarly to french toast….so why not!
Most French toast recipes are pretty similar, so I just grabbed some ingredients from my pantry and hoped for the best.
The result was delicious. Both of my boys devoured it, and they said it tasted delicious.
You could easily switch the recipe up by using a flavored coffee creamer (I love doing this! So many possibilities), but I think most people have all these ingredients in their pantry right now!
Best of all? These are great for freezing!
With school starting soon, I’m trying to find all the best easy breakfasts, and this one will definitely be topping the list.
After they’ve been frozen, you can easily reheat them in the microwave or toaster!
