Thanksgiving is a time to give thanks for all the good in your life, and what better way to show your gratitude than by thanking the people who have helped you throughout the year? For teachers, this might mean giving them a small token of appreciation as a sign of your appreciation. Here are some ideas for thoughtful Thanksgiving gifts for teachers.
It’s no secret that teachers have one of the hardest jobs in the world. They are constantly giving of themselves to their students and their families. Plus, teaching comes along with a lot of stress! The truth is that teachers are helping to shape our future generations, and it’s important to make sure they feel loved, valued, and appreciated.
Teachers often get gifts during Christmas, Teacher Appreciation Day, and the end of the year. As I started thinking about it, I wondered why we don’t celebrate teachers more during the Thanksgiving season! It’s the perfect time for you and your kids to show their appreciation, and you can teach your kids about having an attitude of gratitude at the same time. It’s a win-win situation, and you and your student will love putting together a little gift for their teacher this year.
Teacher gifts don’t have to be big and elaborate or take much time. The goal is to simply make sure they know how much you love and appreciate them! Although I homeschool my kids, here are a few of my favorite teacher appreciation gifts you can give out to your this holiday season. If you want more ideas, check out some of my favorite ways to say “thank you!”
Cozy Blanket
Everyone loves a warm, cozy blanket! You can find inexpensive ones at Target or Walmart, or if you want to splurge a little or have the whole class go in on a gift, you can get the Barefoot Dreams blanket or Minky Couture. Whatever you decide to do, your child’s teacher will love wrapping up in their new blanket during the Thanksgiving break! This is a huge hit and will always hold a special place in their heart.
Gift Cards
Who doesn’t love a good gift certificate? You truly can’t go wrong with this gift. Have your child find out what their teacher’s favorite restaurant is, then purchase a gift card to that place! Or if you would rather gift them something other than food, find out where they like to shop and give them a gift card to that store. It’s so thoughtful and they’ll be so grateful for the gift!
Stainless Steel Tumbler
If you know your child’s teacher likes to drink coffee, tea, hot drinks, or even a lot of water, a stainless steel tumbler is a perfect gift! You can find them at any store, and they come in all different colors and designs. Get one that matches your child’s teacher’s personality for an extra special touch! My stainless steel tumbler is one of my favorite things, and these make for the best teacher appreciation gifts.
Here is how to personalize a stainless steel tumbler with a laser machine!
Thank You Card
What better way to show your appreciation than with a handwritten thank you card? You can buy a pack of thank you cards at any store, or you can have your child make their own! This is such a thoughtful and personal gift that any teacher would love to receive. If you want to take it a step further, gift the teacher a box of thank you cards they can write and send out. It’s a fun way to give a gift that keeps on giving. A lot of teachers love writing cards for special occasions, so these are perfect Thanksgiving gifts for them.
Baked Goods
Who doesn’t love freshly baked goods or a sweet treat? Make your child’s teacher some pumpkin bread, pumpkin pie, muffins, cookies, bread, or any other fall baked goods. They’re sure to love having a little something to snack on, especially during those long days leading up to a holiday break. This will let them know their hard work is greatly appreciated!
Fall Candle
What better way to celebrate the season than with a fall candle?! They make for adorable Thanksgiving gifts that can be used throughout the season. You can find these at Target or Bath and Body Works, and they come in all different scents. Choose a scent you know your child’s teacher will love, or try out a few different ones! Candles are such a cozy and relaxing gift, and they make any room smell amazing. If their teacher isn’t a candle person, you could always do wax melts or wall plugins.
Fall Classroom Decor
If you’re looking for a gift that will really make your child’s teacher’s day, consider gifting them some fall themed classroom decor! This could be anything from a new pumpkin door hanger to some cute Thanksgiving themed desk supplies. Whatever you decide to do, your child’s teacher is sure to love this thoughtful gift. You could even make them something!
Classroom Supplies
Another great gift idea for teachers is school supplies! Every teacher knows that supplies are always appreciated. You could put together a little care package with things like markers, sticky notes, crayons, pencils, paper, etc. Or you could get them something they’ve been needing for their classroom, like a new stapler or pencil sharpener. This is a practical gift that your child’s teacher will get tons of use out of – it’s overall a great teacher gift.
Gift Basket
If you want to go all out, you could put together a gift basket for your child’s teacher! This is such a fun and thoughtful gift, and you can really customize it to fit the person. You could fill it with things like cozy socks, a mug, hot cocoa, fall candles, etc. Get creative and have fun with it! Your child’s teacher is sure to love this gift.
Soap, Lotion, and Bath Salts
If you’re looking for a relaxing gift for your child’s teacher, look no further than soap, lotion, and bath salts! This is such a nice gift, especially for teachers who are always on the go. They can use the soap and salts to relax in a warm bath after a long day. You can find all of these items at your local grocery store, and they come in lots of different scents. To keep on track with the Thanksgiving theme, I would recommend going with a pumpkin or vanilla type of fall scent. You can even throw in some face masks or other beauty products!

Thanksgiving is the perfect time to show your child’s teacher how much you appreciate them. They work so hard, and they deserve to be treated with a little extra love and attention.
