Do you have a friend or family member who lives far away but you want to brighten their day? Here are some great “thinking of you” gifts that can easily be ordered online and delivered straight to your loved ones home.
Brighten Your Day Gifts
In an ideal world, I would live on the same street as all of our family and friends – and if someone was in need, I could just hop on over to help them.
Well, I don’t think anyone quite lives in a situation like that and when someone is going through a hard time, dealing with a sickness, or just needs a “cheer me up”, it can be hard when you live half way across the country.
While a simple text message or a phone call can make all the difference, I often feel at odds with knowing what to do!
Fortunately, there are a lot of amazing companies out there that offer delivery on little gifts that you can send “just because” and “thinking of you” – some even offer same day delivery.
I’m always looking for new ideas, so I asked our Instagram followers for some different ideas of little gifts you can send someone to help cheer them up a little bit. I absolutely loved all the ideas that people contributed, and I’m excited to share them with you today!
Gift Delivery Ideas
This is a fun company that offers a variety of cookie bouquets and baskets. They offer same day delivery, though you’ll save some money if you opt to go for standard shipping. They sent us a sample of one of their baskets, and our whole family really enjoyed it.
They have cookies available for every occasion, including ones to just brighten someone’s day. They offer decorated cookies, as well as some more gourmet options. The gourmet cookies were my favorite – I especially enjoyed the Millionaire cookies.
You can check out their full selection of gifts on their website. Here are some of their less expensive options for those who are on a budget.
My sister sent me one of these for my birthday, and I just loved it. This company is based out of Utah, and for just $8, they send the recipient a small gift, a little treat and motivational quote in a cute little box.
The gifts you can currently choose from are:
- Bath bombs
- Brazillian Gourmet Truffle
- Champagne Druzy Teardrop Earrings
- Vinyl Heart Stickers
- Sugar Lip Scrub
- Cozy socks
and the small treat that is included in the box is typically a Ghiradelli chocolate. It’s such a fun and inexpensive way to let someone know you care.
One of my friends share this on Instagram a few months ago – someone sent it to her after her oldest son left on a two-year LDS mission. They offer the ultimate comfort item – soup, rolls, and cookies.
I don’t know about you, but when I want to help someone, I always turn to food. And when I’m not near enough to bring food to someone, I think this is an awesome idea. With the soup package, it is around $60, and it includes:
- 64-oz. jar of sensational soup (4-6 generous servings) – they have a variety of different flavors
- 1/2 dozen bacci rolls
- 1/2 dozen cookies
- A ladle to serve up the smiles
- Personalized note card
- Colorful, custom packaging that’s a treat in itself
These are care packages that are just a boxful of happiness! The company was started by a Utah mother of four young children who wanted to offer a convenient way to share sunshine with people in times of sadness, happiness, joy and pain.
There are about 12 different crates to choose from, ranging in price from $29 to $49. They are curated for different occasions and emotions, and all the items featured are from small businesses in Utah, which is pretty cool. All you have to do is select the crate you want, add a little note, and they will take care of the rest!
Sending flowers is not a new things – but I love the Bouqs company. They are cut to order, made by independent florists, and they offer next day delivery for $9 (and free for over $100). Some bouquets are even available for same day delivery. They also have deals of the day, which are fun. Not only do they offer great quality, but the floral bouquets are absolutely beautiful. I’ve gotten some flowers from them in the past, and I can honestly say they are the most beautiful flowers I’ve gotten!
I have never used this company, but they get rave reviews from others. All flowers are wrapped in burlap, they offer “daily designs” that feature seasonal flowers, and they put a lot of thought into every bouquet. Their shipping seems a bit more expensive than the Bouqs Co, but based on how they flowers look, I’m sure that’s worth it. They offer other treats you can order as well (like macarons!)
UberEats or Door Dash
Ordering food straight to someone’s door has never been easier! There are several companies that do this – but I think UberEats and Door Dash are the most popular. You can place on order on their websites or through their apps, and within a short period of time, food from tons of different local restaurants can be delivered to someone’s front porch. This is great for something to send when you want it to arrive right away!
I love the idea of this one – they send you gourmet pies (sweet and savory) straight to your door. They have a wide variety of flavors. It is based on Lehi, Utah, and if you live there, you can choose same day delivery or store pickup. But if you don’t live there, it can be delivered in 1-2 days.
Amazon Prime Now
Not all areas have Amazon Prime Now available, but it’s a great option for sending little gifts or even groceries to people to be delivered within two hours. I believe that there is a $15 minimum (amount may depend on the area), but there are so many things you can ship! You do need an Amazon Prime membership (which you can get a 30 day trial here).
Edible Arrangements
Who doesn’t love a bouquet full of fruit and chocolate? We absolutely love these, and I think most people do!
MyPostcard
I love MyPostcard. I wrote a post about them awhile back, but I think it’s a great company. You can send a custom postcard starting at just $1.99. I love to send these on a whim, or even as a quick Thank You card.
This one is pretty similar to MyPostcard – just another simple way to send photo messages straight to someone’s door.
Gift Cards
Some people think that gift cards are impersonal – however, I think they can be just what someone needs. You can easily send them within minutes, and the recipient can use it right away as well. Amazon.com’s gift card email delivery service is one of our favorites!

We used to do Cookies by Design when I was little! I am very happy to see that they are still around 🙂
