Summer is the perfect time to host a get together- but truthfully- throwing a party can happen any time of the year!
Outdoor parties are always a hit. They are so easy to throw together, too.
You can easily set up some lawn chairs, grab paper cups and plates and light up the grill.
But some parties might need to be more intimate or classy- and indoors.
Indoor parties can be more work.
There are so many things to think of which is why I’m helping you out by reminding you of the best tricks and tips for hosting an indoor, classy get together that will leave your family and friends talking for weeks!

Food
Yes, food made it to the top of my list because it really is the most important aspect.
First decide what you want to serve. Set a budget and go from there. Also, know your audience and who you will be hosting.
Consider having someone cater if that takes added pressure off of you as the host.
No matter what you decide I’ve found that having some sort of appetizer or finger good available is always a hit. Especially if dinner is not quite ready at the start of the party.
One simple trick is to put some sort of snack into tiny, clear dishes.
Be sure to set them out on the serving table so your guests know they are available to munch on throughout the evening.
Blue Diamond Almonds & Fruit is the perfect snack to give your guests because it’s a snack they can feel good about. Not to mention- the are delicious! You can’t go wrong with California almonds and real fruit pieces, that packed with an abundance of nutrients and robust flavor!
From classic flavor combinations like Sea Salt & Whole Blueberry to dynamic favorites like Fiery Ghost Pepper & Tart Cherry, each pairing is sure to satisfy the most sophisticated of palates!
You can even grab a bag or two at your local Walmart store and you can save even more when using the participating ibotta offer.
Decorations
You don’t need to go all out to make your party have an elegant feel- but do what you can to make it pretty inside.
A vase of flowers can go a long way as can twinkly lights and pretty table cloth.
If your party has a theme consider grabbing items that go with it. If not, decide on a couple colors that go well together and decorate using them.
Clean The Bathroom
This might seem like a no-brainer but it can often times be forgotten in the hustle and bustle of getting your kitchen and living area clean.
You can freshen up the bathroom rather quickly right before so it’s in the best shape and ready for guests.
If space allows place a candle, plug-in or a small vase of flowers to brighten up the ambiance.
Make sure there is plenty of toilet paper and if possible, tissues!
Dress Code
As you invite guests to your party make sure you are clear on what the dress code is.
Most people would appreciate a heads up on what attire to wear.
Whether it’s causal, semi-casual or formal don’t forget to put it on the invite or relay the information in person.
When deciding on the dress code- think about your guests, your food and your venue. What would be the most comfortable for people?
While you want people to be dressed appropriate for the occasion, you don’t want them to feel uncomfortable in the situation, either.
Small Talk
This is important! Especially if you are in mixed company.
Think about how you are setting up table and chairs.
This will determine how people interact. If you are mixing groups of friends it could help people mingle and get to know one another.
How you lay out the food is also important.
If it is “buffet” style or sit down will also determine how long people are standing, eating and getting their food.
If you’d like a more casual affair then chairs set up around the room might be appropriate.
If you’re going for more formal, have enough tables and chairs set up for your guests.
Have Fun
Most importantly, don’t stress the small stuff and have fun!
Playing host can be stressful and leaving you wishing your event was over before it even starts.
Just make sure you have a plan in place and go over our check list and everything will turn out just fine!
